We forecast color trends. We scour Pantone color swatches. We juxtapose those color swatches on top of photos next to more color swatches on top of more photos. We review feedback from customers. Then we have physical samples made. Some have potential, some don't. We have more physical samples made. We view those samples under every conceivable ambient lighting setup to understand how a particular color's character may shift depending on its environment.
